Trails

Hiking and biking are popular pastimes in Western Arkansas’ Mountain Frontier. Here you’ll find a variety of trails for exciting excursions every time. The Ozark National Forest boasts some of the state’s best trails. Take advantage of about 300 miles of trails and never see the same view twice. In the Ouachita National Forest, you’ll find a number of hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding trails. The most extensive hiking trail is the Ouachita National Recreation Trail, which traverses 223 miles across the region. Whether you enjoy leisurely day hiking, overnight backpacking, horseback riding, mountain biking or off-road adventuring, there is something to suit your interest.
